FAILURE TO HOLMES PROPERLY

I keep wanting to make a really mean comment about the new RDJ!Sherlock Holmes and typecasting RE:unstable drug addicts.

But that's just because I'm a Jeremy Brett!wife and RDJ's smug face makes me want to punch him. Sherlock Holmes is not an action hero. He's a detective who occasionally engages in fisticuffs. He's also Jeremy Brett, and anyone who disagrees is bad and should feel bad.

I think my final decision is that I would like this movie much better if they called it "The Amazing Adventures of The Detective and the Doctor," and never actually used the names Holmes or Watson. Because it looks like a really awesome movie! About other people.

I'm sticking to the theory that this Holmes is actually his unstable third brother he doesn't talk about pretending to be him for the lolz, and Watson is playing along so he can find out what's going on.
